- Cash management — Wealthfront Cash Account; best for no-fee cash features and broad access. The official page reported a 3.55% base APY as of 2026-10-01 and advertised up to 4.45%. It describes a 0.65-point new-client boost for three months on up to $150,000 and a separate ongoing 0.25-point boost tied to qualifying monthly deposits. Zero account fees and free 24 7 instant withdrawals to eligible external accounts are advertised. Eligible deposits swept to program banks may qualify for up to $8 million FDIC coverage, subject to bank, ownership, and aggregation limits. The captured page did not fully establish boost stacking, all eligibility rules, or withdrawal exceptions; use 3.55% as the supported base and do not treat the maximum as unconditional. These are separate account types and are not a single yield ranking. The comparison is limited to the current evidence: higher advertised offers remain outside the ranked choices when issuer terms were unavailable, the rate was malformed, or the offer conditions were not independently resolved. Capital One showed NaN for APY in the captured official page despite secondary rates of 3.10%–3.20%; CIT's official page returned only “Loading...” while Bankrate listed a conditional 4.25% offer; Ally's capture did not provide a numeric current rate. These are verification holds, not evidence that the products are inferior.
Best-for designations are for analyst and responsible portfolio treasury lead review. No account opening, funding, funds movement, or other external action should occur before that review approves the final list.
Evidence and caveats
Issuer disclosures control. Bankrate's October 22 Marcus listing corroborates the official 3.50% rate and $0 minimum. Forbes search results surfaced a Wealthfront “up to 4.45%” headline; the page itself was not read, so it is a limited cross-check only. Wealthfront's FDIC coverage depends on eligible sweep placement and applicable limits; it is not a bank. Confirm variable rates, eligibility, withdrawal terms, transfer limits, promotion stacking, and sweep terms directly in current disclosures before acting.
