This is a practical starting list for families and caregivers: two source-backed titles for each grade, the broad working band behind the suggestion, a simple conversation prompt, and the school progress check that belongs with it. The grade labels are planning guides—not fixed reading levels—and a child’s interest, language, background knowledge, and access needs matter just as much as the grade.
