A Joyful K–5 Reading List for Families

This teacher-curated menu gives children many ways into stories, information books, and shared reading from Kindergarten through Grade 5. Choose a title that invites a child to wonder, talk, reread, and keep going; the right amount of adult support can change as the text changes.

Books are grouped by grade and kept together by series or reading set. Use the conversation invitation beside each title to turn reading into a warm, specific exchange rather than a race to finish a list.
