A Joyful K–5 Reading List for Families

This teacher-curated menu gives children many ways into stories, information books, and shared reading from Kindergarten through Grade 5. It currently preserves 45 title-level choices—4 for Kindergarten, 5 for Grade 1, 10 for Grade 2, 7 for Grade 3, 9 for Grade 4, and 10 for Grade 5. Choose a title that invites a child to wonder, talk, reread, and keep going; the right amount of adult support can change as the text changes.

Books are grouped by grade and kept together by series or reading set. This verified baseline is ready to grow through ongoing additions: new, grade-appropriate books are intended to be the primary maintenance focus, while grade-level measure alignment remains a supporting classroom check. Use the conversation invitation beside each title to turn reading into a warm, specific exchange rather than a race to finish a list.

Editorial status: the maintenance cadence is recorded as daily but remains paused. The shift to making new book additions the active primary objective is still pending required verification, so this version preserves the current 45-title baseline and does not claim a new title or an activated configuration.
